Figure and Portrait Drawings

As in landscape, drawing from life (figure drawing) and portraying people is motivated by a desire to capture, literally to hold on to the experience. The combination of seeing accurately and sensitively, concern for technique and composition, all are put in the service of treating the subject with respect.
